Residential
We protect the most vulnerable spaces fires go undetected in your home.
Attic, garage, and kitchen fires are just some of the areas where traditional smoke detectors can be rendered ineffective. Often this causes devastation.
Autonomous Fire Detection
SPYKE is a single-station, autonomous heat-activated fire alarm, with a 15-year, no-maintenance standby lifecycle. It uses no electricity or networks, is powered by Shape Memory Alloy and compressed gas, and will reliably alert your home only in the presence of critical life-threatening fire/heat.
-
SPYKEs work in areas where smoke detectors are impractical due to false positives, caused by smoke (kitchens), fumes (garages) and dust (attics). Once installed, SPYKEs activate in the presence of dangerous heat levels only, solving two of the greatest problems faced in residential fire protection, self-sabotage and poor maintenance of equipment.
-
Units installed in attics, for example, would be heard outside the home and by neighbors. In testing, we have had people down the block in office buildings leave the building to inspect the sound. Due to the design specification, materials, and installation process, we have over 99% accuracy rating for these devices over their 15-year use.

Spyke Residential was created to address fires in unprotected areas of homes, such as the attic, garage, and kitchen.
Attic fires can spread silently and lead to total loss. Kitchen and garage fires can also go undetected for minutes or even hours.
Smoke detectors are crucial for home safety, but they are not typically installed in the kitchen, garage, or attic due to efficacy. This leaves these areas vulnerable to fires and lives are lost.
